Getting your medicine sooner
Updated
When you need your medicine more urgently than usual, there are a few ways to get it faster depending on where your prescription currently is.
If your GP hasn’t sent the prescription to Pharmacy2U yet
The quickest option is to contact your GP surgery directly and ask them to issue a prescription you can collect from a nearby pharmacy. Most surgeries can send a one‑off electronic prescription to a local pharmacy without affecting your future prescriptions with Pharmacy2U.
A local pharmacy may also be able to issue an emergency supply to cover you until your GP provides a prescription. NHS 111 can advise you further if needed.
If Pharmacy2U already has your prescription
If your prescription has reached us and you now need it sooner, we can release it back so a local pharmacy can dispense it instead. You can do this by selecting “I need my medicine sooner” in your account.
