What happens if my exemption has expired?

If your exemption has expired but you have another valid exemption, you can update your details by logging into your account.
You’ll need either a valid exemption or an active payment method on your account before we can process your order.
When you declare that you’re exempt from NHS prescription charges, the information must be accurate. The NHS carries out routine checks, and claiming free prescriptions without a valid exemption may lead to a penalty charge.
